Sitter and nanny screening

Perform reference checks

  • Contact each reference provided in the candidate's resume. Start by introducing yourself and who referred you. Ask how they know the candidate, what work they performed, for how long, and their impression of the candidate. Also ask if they currently use the candidate and the reason if they do not, if they would use the candidate again, and if they would recommend the candidate.

The sitter feedback system

  • 4sitters has an internal feedback system that allows parents to leave feedback about each sitter.

Perform an interview

  • The interview process is important. This is an opportunity to ask the sitter questions as well as watching the sitter and children interact.

Background check your sitter

  • By partnering with US Information Search, families are able to perform optional background checks. Background check options include criminal, SSN trace, driving record, credit check, and drug testing.

Report an unqualified sitter

  • Families are encouraged to report a provider if they do not perform well. 4sitters will immediately take appropriate action.
